This was an amazing book and probably my favorite out of Don Miguel’s Toltec collection. This book really opened my mind realizing that society programs us to act a certain way whether it's good or bad.
“We are born in truth, but we grow up believing in lies. . . . One of the biggest lies in the story of humanity is the lie of our imperfection.” — don Miguel Ruiz I agree with this 120% You think about all the things that you were taught along the way? Whether judgmental, racist, sexist you name it......we as humans are not born like this but are taught to be this way. It's funny because when we are children we really live for the moment enjoying the world and everything in it but as we grow up we are told we have to change "grow up" yet it seems that much of our happiness passes us by... why because "society" says we have to grow up get jobs, buy things, and buy more things etc..... You can see there is definitely a flaw here and it has most likely been manipulated by people with something to gain. Think about everyone you know.......? do they think success is about making lots of money, buying lots of things, looking perfect which sometimes means fake, and other materialistic stuff? I can say I was tired of living this lie because I have not that much money to spend and I'm by far the happiest. I do have freedom to choose and live my life on my terms. Miguel Ruiz who is a Christian doctor of Mexican descent links his beliefs of Christianity and the Toltec teachings of his heritage to change people’s lives. This is an amazing book that definitely has the power to improve your life.
