This was a very eye opening book where you get to see a doctor’s approach to using carbohydrate reduction diet to helping people live med free and many symptom free. So many of us with Inflammatory Bowel Disease like Crohn s disease & Ulcerative Colitis have heard our doctors say diet does not matter. But these doctors definitely debunk that statement as they show you a scientific study where 67 patients who follow a low carb diet and after 1.5 years 80% are symptom about those apples? I love it. This book also plays connect the dots to how disease like Cancer, Arthritis, Diabetes and many autoimmune diseases are related to lifestyle and especially high carbohydrate intake. They also do a great job talking about vitamins, minerals and micronutrients. Dr Wolfgang Lutz talks about his rule of 72 grams of carbs a day and also provides lists of what each food contains. This book really does a great job a showing you how a low-carbohydrate diet can save your life. You will learn how to feel better and live longer by changing the way you eat. Anyone who suffers with Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative colitis you are really probably starting to see there is a correlation between high carbohydrate consumption and active IBD's...... I have spoken with so many med free people (many sustained for 10+ years) and regardless of what protocol they used, diet etc all their diets are low carb. This book is great for the people who like to see information that comes from the medical system. This doctor has helped many people with IBD's get a second chance at living a normal life.
